Issues with OAuth Authentication on Coinbase

Hi,

The past couple nights I have been getting connection issues when trying to authenticate with OAUTH. It happened December 30th 1:53 AM EST.

It navigates me to: https://www.coinbase.com/device_confirmations/new.
and show me:

We’re having connection issues

We’re looking into it right now. Please try again later. Your funds are safe.

It does the same thing if I click on the api tab under settings too.

Does it go down for maintenance or something? I wanted to report it if it was a bug. Does anyone else experience this?

I am building an app that users authenticate with Coinbase but they cannot access the app when the Oauth is down.

If you could provide any guidance on what I should do, please let me know.

Thank you,

Michael T

Hi @MichaelT,

I completely understand your concern, as per the url it redirects I can see that, you have tried accessing the Coinbase from new or unregistered device which is why it has prompted you to verify the device
Please follow the steps below to complete the new device verification

To authorise a new device or IP address:

  1. Sign in to your Coinbase.com account.
  2. An email is sent to your registered email address.
  3. From the device that needs to be confirmed, select the button in the email to confirm.
  4. You should be able to fully use your account.

For further help on fixing this check out this page

Hope this helps you, Have a good day!!

It is not the problem that it redirects me to confirm my device, it is the fact that when it redirects me the page that is shown is:

We’re having connection issues

We’re looking into it right now. Please try again later. Your funds are safe.

For a couple of hours December 30th, and December 29th, the service was either down or broken. The problem went away after a couple hours each night.
