API unreliable -- authentication errors with valid key

From 21:44 UTC, 02/07/2023 to 22:50 UTC 02/02/2023 – my API key consistently received an ‘Unauthorized’ error from the Coinbase Advanced API.

Before that time and after that time – it is operating normally.

There seem to be authentication reliability issues with the API. Is this being addressed ?

  • Can you tell us what API endpoint you are using when you receive this error? This would help us to investigate a specific issue and can revert back to you as soon as possible.

  • Are there any changes made with the integration that may have resulted in this concern?

All of the API endpoints that I use were failing during that window – I generally use them in this order during normal operations.

ListAccounts, ListOrders, ListFills

The issue occurred for the time mentioned. It has not happened again in the last 18 hours. There were no changes before/during or after the issue.

To answer your question as to why you are receiving an Unauthorized error during that time window, was probably due to the scheduled maintenance by Coinbase. You may briefly experience slower load times as we perform routine system maintenance. Please be aware that errors can occur during slow loading times.
